Ra Ra Riot Benefit

(CMJ) Ra Ra Riot will host a benefit concert to honor former drummer John Pike, who died at the age of 23 in June of this year. The event, aptly titled "Friends Of John," will take place December 15 at the Middle East in Boston and feature Pike's favorite acts, Tokyo Police Club and Vampire Weekend, who the band became close with as tourmates.

Tickets will be sold for 15 dollars, with all proceeds going to the memorial fund started by Pike's family, which hopes to start a lending library of musical instruments for underprivileged kids.

According to Ra Ra Riot manager Josh Roth, who came up with the idea for the show along with the band, the event will be the first of many to support the fund. - more on this story
