The South African singer was gunned down in an attempted carjacking last week in front of his two children. Five men have so far been arrested in connection with the killing.
During the service, Dube's own hit 'Rastas Never Die' was played to mourners, while the lyrics to his song 'Crime and Corruption' were quoted by Zwelinzima Vavi, the president of the Congress of South African Trade Unions.
