(PR) New Zealand rock act Steriogram returns October 9th with This Is Not The Target Market, the second album in their repertoire and the first to be delivered via Rock Ridge Music. Having issued their debut, Schmack! in 2003 while signed to Capitol Records, the five-piece decided to go indie with their latest release. The do-it-yourself ethic has been important to Steriogram since day one. When it came to recording TINTTM, they took the same approach; the band decamped to Kare Kare beach just outside of Auckland for several months to write and record the bones of what would later become This Is Not The Target Market. Having just returned from two years touring hard in the U.S., it was like gasping for air after too long underwater.

Album opener Get Up is a supercharged rock track, one thatll grab your attention and hold it for ransom. Featuring the blood-chilling howl of Killing Joke frontman Jaz Coleman - who visited the studio at a fortuitous time - the song takes frenetic energy shakes it up with a growl. Lead single Just Like You won a happy response from the bands ready fanbase back home, and follow-up smash Own Way Home is one of Steriograms finest moments yet. Brave in its honesty, Satan Is A Lady wrestles with hypocrisy and stigma, while the tongue-in-cheek Built On Lies (Gangster) recalls the inimitable humor of Schmack! Says Kerrang of TINTTM: Steriogram go for the jugular, launching big punch-the-air hooks over raw guitar and screaming vocals.

Having just signed to Rock Ridge Music, Steriogram is excited about the albums U.S. release. Says frontman Tyson Kennedy, Theres nothing more satisfying than seeing our album in the hands of a group as hardworking and genuine as the Rock Ridge crew. Where to from here? I guess well see.
