38 Doors Down Special Studio
Henderson and Capps work together at the Rock Ridge Music label where Henderson is a principal in the company and Capps is a consultant with the role of A&R Manager (he recently signed the Benjy Davis Project to the label). Says Capps about the studio plans: "I've had the wonderful opportunity to work with Chris and his partners at Rock Ridge. I happened upon this studio and Chris and I both liked the potential and agreed it was a no-brainer. It has been an outlet for us to explore new avenues. Chris holds his own as a producer and I am looking forward to putting the experience we've gained throughout our career to work for us as a team." Agrees Henderson: "I'm very excited about the studio space being in the Nashville area and I look forward to working with Bobby at Rivergate."
Already, the studio has hosted a number of musicians and bands including Ken Block (Sister Hazel), Jon Nicholson (Musik Mafia), Todd Harrell (3 Doors Down), Mark Matakia (Lynryd Skynyrd), Halfdown Thomas, Kolo, Benjy Davis Project, David Z (Prince), and editing projects by Donnie Van Zant (.38 Special) and Don Barnes (.38 Special). With its official opening, the studio will be available to any artists interested in recording there. Also planned is a companion networking site for musicians, writers, production personnel and others in the music business called Rivergate Studios Cyber Space, which will provide opportunities for performers and industry folks to find the perfect collaborators for upcoming projects.
