Ashtar Command Release Deadman's Gun Video
. Ashtar Command penned "Deadman's Gun" for Rockstar Games' critically acclaimed, Western-themed video game, "Red Dead Redemption" and the song is also featured on the Red Dead Redemption Original Soundtrack. So check out the embeddable video here Chris Holmes and Brian Liesegang met while studying at the University of Chicago, where Chris hosted a UFO-themed radio show - sort of an academic Art Bell meets Ira Glass' "This American Life." The band, in fact, takes its name from a concept that emerged in the 1950's of an intergalactic U.N. (Ashtar Command), devoted to assisting the human race in a time of crisis. Think evolution by enlightenment, which makes the name a fitting metaphor for the band. With Chris now based in Los Angeles and Brian still in Chicago, the two collaborate long distance. They've also forged successful individual careers in addition to their work in Ashtar Command. Holmes released a solo album under his Yum Yum moniker and has worked with such artists as The Smashing Pumpkins, Felix Da Housecat, P. Diddy and Joshua Radin. He has also DJ'd for Sir Paul McCartney (at Coachella), Radiohead, Daft Punk and numerous others. As a member of Nine Inch Nails, Liesegang worked on the multi-Platinum, GRAMMY-winning albums Broken and The Downward Spiral. He later co-founded the two-man band Filter with Richard Patrick and has since worked with artists such as Billy Corgan, Crystal Method and Veruca Salt.
