. The event will be held July 23 and 24, with London's grand, historic Alexandra Palace serving as the central venue. The venue has some proud rock 'n' roll pedigree, having been the site of pivotal performances by such acts as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, the Pixies, the Stone Roses and the Grateful Dead. Acting as event curators, Portishead have so far put together a festival lineup that includes performances by Swans, Doom, Beach House, the Liars and a reunited Company Flow, with more acts, films, and art events to be announced as the festival comes together. In a press release announcing the new event, Portishead's Geoff Barrow said, "Portishead has once again been given the horrendous task of joining up with our favorite festival in the world and choosing a dream list of bands we would like to play with at least the ones that aren't dead or in jail." - more on this story Gibson.com is an official news provider for the Day in Rock.
