Adele Ties Titanic Record

(popmusiclife) Adele's "21" has reached its 16th week at no 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, its reign the longest since the "Titanic" soundtrack also earned 16 weeks at the top in 1998.

Billboard reports "21" is one of only five sets to notch at least 16 weeks atop the list since SoundScan's sales data began powering the Billboard 200 in May of 1991.

Aside from "21" and "Titanic," the other three are: the Whitney Houston-driven soundtrack to "The Bodyguard" (20 weeks in 1992-1993), Garth Brooks' "Ropin' The Wind" (18 in 1991-1992) and Billy Ray Cyrus' "Some Gave All" had 17 in 1992. more on this story
