Singled Out: Hyro Da Hero's Sleeping Giants
. Sleeping Giants is a special song to me. Its one if my most energetic, anti-authority, and uplifting songs on my album. A guaranteed mosh starter. It has always been a dream of mine to work with Ross Robinson and when given the opportunity I stepped up to the mic with a vengeance. Having such an amazing band backing my record ( Mark and Cody from Blood Brothers, Paul from At the Drive-In, and Daniel from Idiot Pilot.) I wanted Sleeping Giants to be the loud gunshot to wake up this zombie like society we have today. This is one of my first tracks to be recoded with Ross. I remember hearing so many crazy stories of Ross Robinson's recording process that i was a bit nervous. I soon found that to be true when he planned for me and him to do a 3 day fast before recording any vocals. Luckily he needed me to do a rough take before we both starved. Once I stepped up to the mic and started rapping the words to Sleeping Giants he was amazed. I remember him saying to skip the fast we are recording now. From that moment I rocked the mic and created my album Birth, School, Work, Death. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
