Black Sabbath Explain 'God Is Dead?'
. Guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler sat down with NME TV to explain the meaning behind the album's controversially named lead track, "God Is Dead?" "Ozzy came out with the title," explain Geezer, the group's lyricist. "I was going 'you can't sing that.' He wanted to keep it in, so I wrote the rest of the words around that. It's about a religious fanatic, somebody that's been told that God is dead and he wants to prove that God is alive and well. That's what the song is about."
