. The Christian metal singer, of Carlsbad, Calif., will return to court September 16, 2013 to face charges for hiring a hitman to kill his estranged wife, reports the San Diego Reader. Lambesis was taken into custody on May 7 for providing an undercover police officer $1,000 in cash along with photographs of his wife, Meggan Lambesis, access codes to her home and a list of dates when he would be away with the couple's three adopted children in order to establish an alibi. After pleading not guilty to one count of solicitation of murder, Lambesis' bail was set at $2 million, a reduction from the $20 million originally requested by Deputy District Attorney Claudia Grasso. Grasso claimed Lambesis "is a huge flight risk." Judge David L. Berry stipulated that if Lambesis makes bail, he must wear a GPS device, remain in the San Diego area, and stay away from his wife and children. During the preliminary proceedings, Lambesis' attorney testified that the singer had become so into bodybuilding that he'd moved from taking nutritional supplements to full-blown steroid consumption, claiming that the singer's "thought processes were devastatingly affected by his steroid use. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
