Derek Trucks Talks New Tedeschi Trucks Album

(Gibson) Derek Trucks says the new Tedeschi Trucks album feels like "five steps forward" compared to their 2011 debut, Revelator. "This one feels like five steps forward," Trucks says.

"Everybody knows each other, everybody is more confident. It hits hard. We wrote a bunch of great tunes. I'm excited about this one. I think it will make some noise."

Susan Tedeschi has a lot of faith in the album, which she says is made of all keepers: "There are no sleepers," she says. "Even our horn players said they were trying to fast forward but they couldn't. It's Grammy worthy."

The album, which is due for release on August 20, 2013, was produced by Derek Trucks with Jim Scott, who also worked with the band on Revelator. Scott has also worked as engineer with Dixie Chicks, Tom Petty, Sting, The Rolling Stones, Crowded House, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Santana. more on this story
