American Idol Confirm Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban
. Using the hashtag #IDOL2014TheRemix, Lopez took to Twitter to announce her not-so-surprising return to the show, which she appeared on for two seasons before taking last season off to pursue other ventures. Connick, Jr., on the other hand, released an official statement saying, "I have always been a huge fan of American Idol and really enjoyed my time as a mentor on the show and I am honored that they've asked me to be a judge this season. As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to American Idol, and to help emerging performers find their way." Connick also set himself up to be the funny judge, tweeting that he was looking for a gavel to bring to set in the fall. Maybe he forgot that the previously feuding judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj will not be back? He tweeted, "so excited to be on @AmericanIdol!!! i've already judged my wife and daughters like three times this morning. do they sell gavels on amazon?" Randy Jackson isn't going away either.
