(Radio.com) In fairness, June 24 and 25 won't be the first time Elvis Costello plays the legendary Carnegie Hall. He has taken the stage there before with Spinal Tap in a blistering rendition of their single "Give Me Some Money." But this will be his debut as the headliner.

In a press release, Costello announced that these shows will follow the them of his tour over the last year, following a theme for the night. The exceptional thing about his Carnegie shows is that fans can expect a setlist in excess of 50 different songs between the two shows, made up of a mix of hits and rare tracks.

Carnegie Hall opened on May 5, 1891. Since then it has seen performances from many of the great artists in music history, from George Gershwin to the Beatles for their New York concert debut to the New York Philharmonic who have performed in the Hall over 5,000 times.

Costello's Carnegie Hall headliner dates come at the end of a short summer U.S. tour. Full dates are here.
