Fred Armisen To Be Late Night with Seth Meyers Bandleader

(Radio.com) With Jimmy Fallon taking The Roots with him on his much-ballyhooed move from NBC's Late Night to The Tonight Show, it has been revealed that new Late Night host Seth Meyers is bringing along an old friend to handle musical responsibilities going forward.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Armisen and his 8G Band will be the house band when fellow Saturday Night Live alum Meyers takes over the Late Night reins later on this month.

Meyers himself made the initial announcement with a tweet and a photo depicting the new host posing with Armisen and his 8G band members. Meyers sent an additional tweet to assure fans that "Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he's off shooting Portlandia," referencing Armisen's popular IFC show with Carrie Brownstein. more on this story
