(The Blues) Floyd Taylor, the son of iconic bluesman Johnnie Taylor, has died, it's been reported. The singer's younger brother TJ Hooker Taylor tells TimesDaily.com: "He died pretty much the way my dad died: a heart attack at the age of 60."

Based in Chicago, Floyd Taylor appeared on stage alongside his father in the 1970s and also performed with Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole and others. In 1998 he was named Entertainer Of The Year by the Chicago Blues Society.

He released his debut album, Legacy, in 2002. In December last year he launched a single entitled It's On Me, taken from his fifth studio record Shut Um Down. He'd just completed a US tour, with more dates booked for next month, and was planning more shows overseas. more on this story
