Devin Townsend Fans Pledge Two and Half Times What He Asked For

. (Prog) Devin Townsend has thanked fans after he launched a Pledge Music campaign for his project Casualties Of Cool - then secured more than 250% of his target amount in the first 12 hours.

And he's confirmed the extra cash will go towards development of his highly-anticipated Z2 project. The Canadian maestro admits it took him a while to feel comfortable with the notion of crowdfunding, and it was the experience of putting last year's The Retinal Circus DVD together that made up his mind.

Townsend says: "We were able to pull off an almost unbelievable feat with little more than the spirit of those involved to propel it. It started me thinking." more on this story
