The Eagles' Hotel California Literally The Biggest Record Ever
. The band will then play a residency at the Forum on January 17, 18, 22, 24 and 25. The record, which took 45 days to build from concept to completion, contains a whopping 250,000 square feet of vinyl (yes, it's still actually made of vinyl), is around 5.7 acres (or 4.5 football fields for those who like sporting analogies) in size, weighs 25 tons, contains 15,000 LEDs and will rotate on the roof of the venue at 17 miles per hour. The gigantic Hotel California vinyl will stay in place throughout the month of January and will be taken down in the first week of February. No word on whether it will end up at a record fair but good luck to whichever LP collector tries to explain that to their spouse.
