(Radio.com) It appears that patient Morrissey fans will finally be rewarded with both a new album and tour dates to roll out over the course of the new year. After spending most of 2013 mired in controversy before ending the year with the highly anticipated release of his Autobiography, Music Week reports that Morrissey has signed a new deal with the Harvest Records label, a subsidiary of Capitol Records and under Universal's global umbrella . The signing makes Moz label mates with such acts as Beady Eye, Death Grips and Banks.

According to the label executives, Morrissey is set to release his first full-length on Harvest over the second half of 2014. Furthermore, disappointed ticket-holders unable to see him perform last year after a multitude of tour dates were canceled due to illness will get another chance when he hits the road before the year is out.

Moz is set to convene in Paris later this month with producer Joe Chiccarelli and his longtime backing band, which consists of Boz Boorer (guitar), Jesse Tobias (guitar), Solomon Walker (bass), Matthew Walker (drums) and Gustavo Manzur (keyboards) to begin working on the new record. more on this story
