Scotty McCreery Loses Legal Battle With Former Manager
. Last July, Cassetty sued McCreery for back pay. He said he was owed 15 percent of McCreery's gross revenue for his five months as manager. Court documents listed Scotty McCreery, his mother Judith McCreery and Scotty's production company Blue Crew Productions, Inc. as defendants. Throughout the trial, it was revealed that both parties never finalized a written agreement for their business relationship. When they parted ways last April, Cassetty argued that he was never compensated. Information including email exchanges were presented where McCreery said, "I will make sure you get a large 15% touring check this month." At the end of the relationship, that 15 percent promise became 2 percent instead, according to Cassetty. The lawsuit against McCreery was originally filed for $570,000. The country singer previously asserted that there was no truth to Cassetty's suit in a press statement: "There is no truth to these allegations. I have offered to pay Todd more than once, but he wanted an unreasonable amount for only five months of work. Anyone who knows me knows how I conduct myself, so I am not worried they will believe any of this. This is just an attempt to embarrass me and my family. The facts will come out when we have our day in court." more. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
