Unearthed 1969 Velvet Underground Recording Goes Online
. Stereogum has the premiere of the track, which the band played as their set opener at San Francisco club The Matrix in November 1969. The track, which clocks in at five-and-a-half minutes, includes Lou Reed's slowed vocals alongside plenty of gritty electric guitar as well as a biting guitar feature at the close of the song, much to the audience's pleasure. The Velvet Underground's 45th Anniversary six-CD package will be released on Nov. 24. It will also include an unreleased album which was recorded to get out of their record contract with MGM. The album includes 10 previously unreleased mixes of tracks and four that appeared on later releases. Listen to the track here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
