The clip serves to highlight Womack's lyrics, which proclaim "if I ever get to heaven it's a doggone shame." "Getting people to talk about things, issues and what they believe is the best thing music can do," Womack told Rolling Stone about the Roger Pistole-directed clip. Seemingly, the video and song accomplish just this goal. "The Way I'm Livin'" is the title track from Womack's upcoming album, her first in seven years, scheduled for release due on September 23.
