Black Sabbath's Iommi Animated For History of Metal Series
. (hennemusic) Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi is featured in the debut edition of the VH1 animated series, "The Complete History Of Heavy Metal." The series debut has been released in sync with Iommi's 67th birthday on Thursday. Entitled "Fingers Bloody Fingers", the episode tells the story of how a tragic accident caused Iommi to lose the tops of two of his fingers on his last day of work before becoming a full-time musician - as told by the rocker himself. The injury forced Iommi to re-evaluate his approach to guitar and led to the invention of the very first series of light gauge guitar strings. The feature was illustrated by noted U.K. artist Paul Blow and animated by VH1 senior designer Kee Koo. Watch it here. hennemusic is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
