John Frusciante Releases First Single From Acid House Album
. (Radio.com) John Frusciante blazed brightly during his tenure with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, writing some of their most iconic and irreverent guitar parts. Since he left the band he's charted a course toward far more experimental terrain, working with everyone from The Mars Volta to Wu-Tang-affiliated rappers The Black Knights--something he was doing even while part of the Chili Peppers and after his first break from the band. Dude likes his experimental projects. Now, under his Trickfinger alias, he's ditching the guitar entirely on a new self-titled project--Frusciante will release an acid house album. According to Resident Advisor, a press release describes Frusciante's inspiration behind the project: 'I started being serious about following my dream to make electronic music, and to be my own engineer, five years ago. For the 10 years prior to that, I had been playing guitar along with a wide range of different types of programmed synthesizer and sample-based music, emulating what I heard as best as I could' Read more here.
