Lil Yachty Sorry For Notorious B.I.G. 'Overrated' Comments
.
(Radio.com) Lil Yachty drew ire from the hip-hop community and social media at large when he dubbed the Notorious B.I.G. "overrated." The remarks were seen as a rude dismissal of the hip-hop pioneer who helped pave the way for contemporary artists, including Lil Yachty himself. Instead of diplomatically addressing the situation, Yachty posted a sorry-not-sorry screed to Twitter, doubling down on his comments and resisting calls to apologize. Weeks later, the rapper has changed his tune with a more thoughtful response (and apology) for what he said. "Until about two weeks ago, I had never listened to a Biggie song," Yachty said on Beats 1. "I'm not going to sit here and lie and say I just bump him. But I know for a fact he was spittin. He snapped. I can't lie. I was listening to it and I liked how he do the role play, like he'd do a story wrapping back and forth with himself and then there'd be a skit. It was dope." Read more here.
