Unfortunately, the mass music audiences have not had exposure to Enuff Z'nuff's music since their successful debut in 1989 that featured the two hit radio and MTV singles, "Fly High Michelle" and "New Thing". Now it is nine albums and a decade later and Enuff Z'nuff is primed to bring their brand of rock n roll to fans in America and Europe. After carefully listening to the CD it is apparent that the music is there, we will see if radio and MTV will give these windy city musicians the exposure they deserve.
The band recently inked deals with Z-Records in Europe and Spitfire Records for the release of their 10th CD aptly titled 10.
Here is the official press release:
ENUFF ZNUFF SIGN TO Z-RECORDS IN EUROPE, SPITFIRE IN THE US
Enuff Znuff and UKs Z-Records joined forces at the beginning of August, and will release 10 on September 18th, 2000 throughout Europe.
The following month, Spitfire Records will release 10 in the United States, and EMI-Canada will release the album in Canada. The scheduled release date is October 3, 2000. Spitfire will also re-release the classic Enuff Znuff album Animals with Human Intelligence with the bonus track originally released only in Japan, Fingertips on that same day.
10 has already been released in Japan
and Asia, garnishing praise and rave reviews. One of the Power Pop songs
on the album, There Goes My Heart also charted briefly, marking the first
time EZN has broken the nationals there.
The American/Canadian/European album covers
have been redesigned from the Japanese artwork to reflect the FIRST RELEASE
of the new millennium. The cover for this release will look exactly like
the FIRST album, the self titled ENUFF ZNUFF with a 1 before the peace
sign. The first album brought Enuff Znuff its first set of twin radio
and MTV hits, Fly High Michelle, and New Thing, and the tenth album
is also laden with hits, such as There Goes My Heart among others.
10 also marks the first time since 1993s Animals with Human Intelligence that Enuff Znuff have a video ready to promote the album.
Earlier this year, EZN went on location in California to film the video to There Goes My Heart. Produced by Braddon Mendelson at Noisivision Music Video Productions, and Directed by Brian Smith of Black Rose Productions, (their credits include TV commercials, Ricky Martin and Sublime among others) the video depicts a teenage boy with a crush on a girl, but cannot approach her. Braddon and Brian skillfully blend his black and white world with the color that is hers. The result is a video that shows EZN comfortable in what they do best. Produce great music, as they have done with every album since their debut.
The track listing for 10 are:
1) There Goes My Heart
2) Fly Away
3) The Beast
4) Your Hearts No Good...But I Love Your
Face
5) Wake Up
6) What Can I Do?
7) Suicide
8) Alright
9) Holiday
10) Bang On
11) Jean Genie
12) Everything Works If you Let It (remix-
