Authorities have not determined if the fall was an accident or intentional. Police Col. Robert Novak told the Associated Press "It appears he had his legs over the railing and either fell or lost his balance."
One witness to the event told an A.P. reporter that he saw the man with his leg over the railing and "Next thing, I knew he flipped and fell head first."
An Elektra spokesperson provided antiMUSIC with the following statement made by Summer Sanitarium headliner, Metallica:
"We were notified after the show of the tragedy and needless to say we are absolutely devastated. Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the victim's family and friends in their time of grief."
"We have been told that the police are still investigating the situation and until we know all of the facts surrounding this unfortunate death, any further comment would be purely speculative."
