Thought Eminem teaming up with Elton John was strange? We have a new pairing for you that may send would be music censors into orbit – Marilyn Manson and Eminem.
According to various press reports Marilyn had recently rerecorded “The Way I Am” with Eminem, a song that originally appeared on the controversial rappers best selling CD – “The Marshall Mathers LP”. Marilyn helped put a rock spin on the hip-hop number with electric guitar and his industrial goth rock style vocals going up against Eminem’s raps. Word on the street is that a member of Nine Inch Nails produced the remix, but according to Billboard.com it wasn’t Manson’s mentor Trent Reznor.
As strange as this collaboration may sound, the writing has been on the wall for a while that these two controversial figures might team up. Marilyn Manson and Eminem recently unveiled their new version of the track during a concert appearance in Germany and Marilyn was featured in the video for original version of the song.
There is no word as yet on how this song
will be used, whether it will be released as a single or appear on either
Marilyn or Eminem’s next CD.
