Never passing up a chance to be in the spotlight, KISS has signed on to perform at the closing ceremony of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
The group which has been on a never ending farewell tour for the past two years will join other musical acts Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, Charlotte Church, Harry Connick Jr., Gloria Estefan, Earth Wind & Fire and Moby at the closing ceremony Sunday night at Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium in Salt Lake City.
KISS is said to be planning to perform the song they call the Rock n Roll National Anthem, their 1975 hit Rock n Roll All Night.
The band still plans to play at least one
final farewell show with all four original members before they officially
go into retirement. Meanwhile, Gene Simmons has been keeping busy promoting
his New York Times Best-selling autobiography KISS and Makeup and dabbling
in the periodical publishing arena with Tongue Magazine.
