Just Walden - High Street Barton Blues
Don't be misled by the album title, however, because this is not a blues recording. Of course, it is blues influenced. But then again, so is almost all popular music - at least in some way or another. The most obvious influence, instead, is Elton John. For instance, "Romie Knows" has the feel of early, rocking 70s Elton John. Furthermore, "Space Cadet" features a lyrical direction that wouldn't have been unexpected coming from the pen of Bernie Taupin, John's most famous lyricist. Not everything features hard driving keyboard work, however. For instance, "Full Body Tattoo" has a breezy feel to it, along with neo-classical piano parts.
Those that are nostalgic for 70s soft rock music, or find that Ben Folds albums don't offer nearly enough aural nutrition, will likely enjoy this one.
