James Labrosse - Orange Night

.
James Labrosse may be a talented flamenco and jazz guitarist, but he surrounds himself with widely varying sounds on his album Orange Night. For instance, "I've Changed" is a breezy pop tune, whereas this album's title track includes electronic elements and progressive-leaning changing time signature. So, if you're just expecting predictable jazz guitar music, you're in for a real treat with this one.

Yes, Labrosse is a sonic adventurer, but he's also well trained. He graduated from the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2015 with a degree in contemporary writing and production and has been playing music since he was 13.

Although it would have been easy for Labrosse to let his skilled playing get lost in all the production bells and whistles, his guitar prowess is out in plain view during "Pre-Nostalgia," which is - of course - followed by a track titled "Post-Nostalgia.'

Unlike a lot of the musical novices making danceable music these days, James Labrosse is a top-tier musician that also knows his way about a groove. This makes Orange Night well worth your investigation.
