Jared Weiss - Isolated Thunderstorms
There's more to Weiss' music than mere Dylan approximation here, however. "Elusive Particle," for instance, bounces back and forth between quiet and loud rock & roll sounds. Weiss has a theatrical sounding voice, too, so it's not difficult imagining seeing him entertain a theater audience.
Harmonica accompaniment returns with "Annalu (From Monterrey)," which describes a woman Weiss respects, but can't fully comprehend. We all know people like her in our lives. Weiss had the intelligence, though, to put such a one in a song.
Jared Weiss fills his songs with passion and intelligence, which makes Isolated Thunderstorms an inviting weather forecast, indeed.
