The Malawi International Tourism Expo (MITE), also known as Takulandirani, is set to take place April 26 and 27, 2023 at Bingu Wa Mutharika International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, the nation's capital and largest city. The expo will celebrate Malawi's emergence as Africa's newest tourism hot spot and showcase "the real African experience."
At least 80 exhibitors and nearly 50 buyers are expected to be in attendance and they will have lots to talk about. African Parks is involved in ongoing conservation work that is transforming Malawi's parks and game reserves and recent translocations of lion, cheetah, wild dogs, giraffe, rhino and elephant have upped the quality of safaris and other game viewing opportunities. Hiking and biking, mountain climbing, lodgings, transportation, adventures on Lake Malawi and historic sites are just a few of the other subjects that exhibitors will be able to discuss.
Attendees of MITE will be able to network with buyers and bookers of tourism products and services, meet other destinations and acquire knowledge about other source destinations, interact with travel media and establish long-term business relationships. There will also be a series of workshops taking place. MITE will offer times for the general public to attend as well and the entry fee will be discounted for students. An array of artists and artisans will also be on hand to show and sell their wares.
Members of the travel and tourism trade who wish to attend MITE can register at https://tourism.mw/
