Butch Walker Gets Dazed and Confused With Matthew McConaughey
(superLOUD) Butch Walker has released his second single, "Synthesizers," from his newest album The Spade. The video for "Synthesizers" features Matthew McConaughey as his Dave Wooderson character from the 1993 film "Dazed and Confused."

McConaughey looks shockingly similar to his portrayal of Wodderson nearly 20 years ago. His remarkable genetics even earned Butch some press on the celebrity gossip site TMZ.

The fun video features the Dazed and Confused character as the focus, leaving the actual singer Walker mere cameo status as the bartender that shouts "That's right!" An additional cameo for eagle-eyed viewers to spot is adult film legend Ron Jeremy as a patron. Check it out here.

The World According to Alice Cooper
(Gibson) Alice Cooper is the original makeup-ed shock rocker, and there are no substitutions. Taking from heavy metal, vaudeville and symphonic rock, the "School's Out" rocker built his legacy on mixing haunting musical sounds with horrific onstage theatrics everything from bright red blood to mile-long syringes to electric chairs. The result? The Coop always paints a picture of horror in his concertgoers' minds.

Along the way, Alice Cooper has developed a somehow lovable persona, making him rock's favorite villain to date. In the following choice quotes, Alice talks about hitting rock-bottom during his struggle with substance addiction, touring with fellow horror rocker Rob Zombie, finding a Christian faith and getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rock on, Alice!

On finally getting inducted into the Hall of Fame, as told to USA Today in 2011: We were Susan Lucci for quite a long time or Pete Rose, whichever way you look at it! I went, 'That's kind of cool. Every year, it's this new outrage.' I was sitting there, going, 'Calm down. Don't worry. Our time will come.'"

On staying excited about music 30-plus years later, as told to Horror Garage: You know, it's funny, 'cause I think that if it's in your blood, you never get tired of it. I'm still a rock 'n' roll fan. I have a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old, and I'm probably the only dad in the world that bangs on their door and says, 'Turn that up!' If it's good rock 'n' roll, I'm the first one to turn it up. Like anything else: there's great rock 'n' roll, there's crappy rock 'n' roll. And I'm not real prejudiced. As much as I'm not a big rap fan, I love Eminem. I think Eminem is very funny. more on this story

Happy Birthday To Cheap Trick's Robin Zander
(Gibson) Every part of Cheap Trick contributes to the greater whole. Rick Nielsen provides the brains, the bombast and the humor. Bun E. Carlos is the muscle that propels the machine. Tom Petersson gives the greatly geeky lot a much-needed "cool" factor. But none of it would mean a thing or at least, it would all be much less effective if not for that voice.

Robin Zander was born on this day in 1953 in the town of Beloit, Wisconsin, along the Illinois border. The fourth of five children, Robin was raised in a musical household, with his father playing in a local jazz band. In 1964, though, he was floored like most kids of his generation by The Beatles' invasion of America. The following year, he got his first guitar and, shortly thereafter, formed his first band, The Destinations. As he progressed through school in Loves Park, Illinois, he bounced from band to band and sang in a choral group. Robin, as it so happened, was blessed with one of those one-in-million-voices that was both bell-clear and stentorian in its power. He was, to put it succinctly, the perfect rock singer. Which made his next move, at the dawn of the 1970s, a bit puzzling.

Chicago was teeming with garage rock bands like Shadows of Knight, The Cryan' Shames and the Grim Reapers (the latter featuring a certain Rick Nielsen and Tom Petersson). Zander, though, followed a different path, teaming up with a pianist to form the folk duo Zander and Kent. Every summer, the duo held a residency in the resort area known as the Wisconsin Dells. In between gigs with Zander and Kent, he would sometimes moonlight in oldies bands with his pal, Brad Carlson (a.k.a. Bun E. Carlos). more on this story
