Eminem Vs Mariah Carey
Hecklerspray reports: It's becoming clear that Eminem and Mariah Carey are the Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor of pop. No, wait, that's wrong. We meant to say that Eminem and Mariah Carey are the honking, toothless, meth-addicted, redneck, laundry-airing Jerry Springer guests of pop. Yes, that's better.

So far, Eminem wrote a song about having sex with Mariah Carey, then Mariah Carey wrote a song calling Eminem obsessed, and now Eminem has written a song threatening to release voicemails and nude pictures of Mariah. Coming soon, Mariah says that Eminem runs like a girl and has fleas and wets the bed. IDST.

Not since Hilary Duff said something vaguely obtuse about Faye Dunaway's age has a celebrity spat gripped the world like this. Mariah Carey (a woman who's about to bring a new album out) and Eminem (a man who recently brought a new album out and has a bit-part in a new movie that just happens to be released in America today) are at each other's throats. - more including the video

Jessica Biel Gets Musical
AP reports: Jessica Biel sings! That may come as a surprise to audiences who only know the "actress" from her primarily dramatic work on television and in films, including the long-running "7th Heaven," and the big-screen "Stealth" and "The Illusionist."

Biel, 27, marks her major musical-theater debut this weekend, as the Los Angeles Philharmonic presents a three-night run of a concert version of the classic "Guys and Dolls" at the Hollywood Bowl.

"I haven't really done anything like this," Biel said, following a dress rehearsal Friday afternoon. "Well, I did one thing in college. In college, I did a concert version of 'Tommy' when I was in college. But, other than that ... ." - more on this story

But while currently taking her solo project across Europe, Life Music asked Palmer whether there was a possibility of more Dresden Dolls shows. She replied, "Yes, not sure when and where. We are planning dates for 2010. We miss playing with each other." - more on this story

Gavin DeGraw's Big Bro Joey Sets New Release
PR reports: New York-based singer/songwriter Joey DeGraw combines strong clever lyrics with rootsy rock sounds in his release, Say Something Strong (August 18, 2009).

Big brother to musician Gavin DeGraw, Joey has been playing music since the age of eight. He has recorded with noted producers, Steve Greenwell (Joss Stones' The Soul Sessions and Mind, Body & Soul) and Jim Caruana Beyonc's Crazy In Love). He has also collaborated with top recording artists, including Joss Stone, legendary Mountain front man/guitarist Leslie West, Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors, and of course, Gavin DeGraw. Decoder Ring Return With New Album
PR reports: Decoder Ring, long revered for their uniquely sublime soundscapes, will digitally release their new album They Blind the Stars, and the Wild Team on August 18th via iTunes.

They Blind the Stars, and the Wild Team, a double album, was more than two years in the making and Decoder Ring's first since 2006's critically acclaimed, Somersault (OTS). To aid them in refining some of the many sounds they had amassed in the lead up to the recording, Decoder Ring enlisted the production skills of Scott Colburn (Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Yeasayer).

Decoder Ring wash away many conventional songwriting norms by stripping out vocals, verses, choruses and bridges. What is left is a seamlessly linked group of strikingly textured and emotive pieces that allow the listener to fully immerse themselves into the vast sonic playground they build. - Video which the band recently used as a backdrop during their support tour with Coldplay
