Vanessa Hudgens Gets Naked For New Film
Hecklerspray reports: Vanessa Hudgens isn't an actual whore, and that she's only going to be playing one in a film - which sort of spoils the fun if you ask us - but, hey, at least this means you'll finally get to see what Vanessa Hudgens looks like naked. Pardon? You've already seen Vanessa Hudgens naked? Everyone has? OH FINE THEN.

Since High School Musical 3 wrapped, Vanessa Hudgens has been desperate to appeal to a more adult audience. And that seems to be exactly what she'll do with her new movie Sucker Punch. Admittedly Vanessa Hudgens is trying to appeal to a very specific adult audience - the sort of adult audience that cuts holes in its trouser pockets so that it can masturbate discreetly at the cinema, the sort of adult audience that only became a removal man so that it could steal women's underwear when nobody was looking - because she'll be playing a naked prostitute. But a girl's got to start somewhere.

The LA Times reports: "I'm playing a character named Blondie, and it's set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there's not a whole lot of clothes!… I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up." She talks about her role as a sexy woman "strutting her stuff" … and she does things "I would never have imagined doing." - more on this story

Idol Host Inks Record Deal
BBC reports: American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has reportedly signed a three-year deal to present the top-rated US reality show, said to be worth $15m (£9.2m) a year.

The deal, believed to be the richest ever for a reality TV host, will see the 34-year-old front Idol until 2012.

"Ryan is one of American television's most talented stars," Simon Fuller of show producers 19 Entertainment told the Hollywood Reporter. [Proving again that Fuller is a poor judge of talent and not very bright. Who else would pay someone who is so hated $15 million bucks a year to be annoying? (aside from NBC)] - more on this story

Disney Buys Miley Cyrus Wings
Variety reports: Disney has acquired screen rights to the young adult novel "Wings" and will develop the bestselling Aprilynne Pike title as a star vehicle for Miley Cyrus.

Pic will be developed for Cyrus to play Laurel, a 15-year-old who grows up sheltered and home-schooled in a small town.

Adjusting to a big high school is difficult, and her suspicion that she's not like the other kids becomes a reality when she sprouts a pair of wings and learns that she's a fairy. - more on this story

MTV Once Again Can't Find A Real Celeb To Host VMAs
MTV reports: MTV is back to take over New York City and the world should prepare for chaos as Russell Brand returns as host of the "2009 MTV Video Music Awards."

The evening will feature performances by popular artists, staged all over Manhattan, including Radio City Music Hall. MTV's 26th annual Video Music Awards will air live from New York City, for the 14th time in its history, on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape delayed PT).

For her first VMA performance, country-pop superstar Taylor Swift will sing a never before heard version of "You Belong With Me," off her multi-platinum album Fearless. Michael Jackson Sales Jump 37 Percent This Week
Billboard reports: The King of Pop dominates the Nielsen SoundScan and Billboard charts yet again. Based on preliminary sales numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, Michael Jackson's catalog of solo albums sold a mighty 1.1 million copies in the U.S. in the tracking week that ended at the close of business on Sunday (July 12).

That's a jump of 37% stacked next to the previous week, when his combined albums sold just shy of 800,000. In just the past two and a half weeks, American consumers have purchased more than 2.3 million Jackson albums.

Record label sources have suggested that sales of Jackson's albums were particularly strong last week because of publicity surrounding his memorial service on Tuesday July 7. Additionally, a wider selection of his albums were re-stocked by key retailers, in addition to key hits compilations like "Number Ones" and "The Essential Michael Jackson" and of course, "Thriller." - more on this story
