Day in Pop Report for 12/13/2012
Lohan has been on probation for a 2011 jewelry theft case and she was arraigned for several misdemeanor charges stemming from a traffic accident in June, according to MTV. In the accident, Lohan struck a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway while driving her Porsche. She told police that she was not driving but investigators believe that she was and she has been charged with reckless driving, giving false information to a police officer and obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty. Due to the new charges, her probation has been revoked and she is now facing up to 245 days in jail as a result. Lohan is due back in court on January 15th.
Now it seems that some have been getting a good laugh out of a new viral video, where she appears to be singing along to Katy Perry's "Firework." In fact, the performance was originally a cappella, someone added the "Firework" piano chords to the original video. Watch videos of both versions here.
Bieber will join the also newly announced Jason Aldean, Greyson Chance, Ellie Goulding and The Wanted at the West Coast portion of the event which will also feature Black Eyed Peas member Fergie, Brandy, Flo Rida, Karmin, and OneRepublic. Psy is set to perform at the East Coast event in New York City's Times Square and will join Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and Neon Trees. More details here.

Hollyscoop asked Louis Tomlinson and Zayne Malik at Jingle Ball in New York over the weekend if they would ever write a song with Taylor, "Yeah!" Says Louie, "I mean, she's amazing at what she does, but there's no talks of anything at the moment." Ne-Yo is already working on his follow up to R.E.D. Although he gave no hints on what we can expect genre-wise, he assured us it will be quality as always. "With this next album I am just going to go in and do whatever I feel like. Whatever comes out, comes out. The music is who I am," he said. "I am never gonna give anything to you that is crap� I am always gonna give you quality. It will just be quality of whatever genre I feel like. The 18-year-old track re-entered the chart at No. 29 this week, topping it's previous showing. The track, from the 1994 album "Merry Christmas," didn't actually make the Hot 100 chart when the album was released since it wasn't released as a commercial single that year. The Black Keys for "Baddest Man Alive" from The Man With the Iron Fists and Arcade Fire for "Abraham's Daughter" from The Hunger Games soundtrack. Billboard carried a statement from Ross where he explains, "I canceled the rest of the tour due to the promoter was really not handling his business. He canceled a date of mine. I was going to Tuscon, Arizona and I was really a few hours outside of the market when I heard. I believe it was Tuscon, this was a week and a half ago," he said. "And I let the dude know how we move and just to communicate a little better. So I woke up and realized that two more dates had been canceled. I felt like that was some power I needed to take away from homie, so I canceled the rest of the dates." There was also big news about his record label.

I don't want to rush anything out. I don't want to put anything out just because I want to get things out there. The band will be supporting Mumford & Sons at two shows this February, on the 5th at TD Garden in Boston, MA and on the 6th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
