Fall Reissue
press release reports: Out of all the late- 70s punk and post-punk bands, none have been longer-lived or were more prolific than the Fall. Throughout their career, the band underwent a myriad of line-up changes, but at the centre was vocalist Mark E. Smith. With his snarling, barely comprehensible vocals and all-consuming bitter cynicism, Smith became a cult legend in indie and alternative rock. Not the kind of band to write happy pop tunes, the Fall nevertheless have had plenty of UK top 75 hits for outsiders. It's a challenge to differentiate between their many albums, yet the Fall have uniquely inspired a new generation of underground bands. They continue to attract a large following in the U.K., the U.S. and across the world, performing and touring to this day.

Hex Enduction Hour is regarded by most Fall fans as their bone fide classic, encapsulating everything for which The Fall are so loved and revered. Originally released in March 1982, Hex.. displays the vicious lyrical edge of Mark E. Smith whilst the team of Mark Riley and Craig Scanlon produce more extreme industrial edge clattering, combining both riff and melody. This double re-mastered deluxe edition adds bonus tracks recorded for a John Peel Radio One session in '81, the '82 Single, "I'm Into C.B.", and a gaggle of live tracks recorded in England and New Zealand between Nov. '81 and August '82. To top all this off, we've included a track recorded at the Astoria, London. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Peta Victory Dinner
Peta reports: Ohio-based Hawthorne Heights and Victory Records have teamed up with peta2—PETA’s youth-focused division—to hook some lucky fans up with a chance to have dinner with the band; free concert tickets; a copy of a limited-edition stencil autographed by guitarist Casey Calvert; and a Hawthorne Heights messenger bag filled with T-shirts, CDs, DVDs, and stickers. Visitors to peta2.com and peta2’s section of MySpace.com can enter to win through August 15. The peta2 MySpace page will also include a brand-new pro-vegetarian radio public service announcement featuring Casey, exclusive interviews with Casey and drummer Eron Bucciarelli, and photos of the band.

The limited-edition stencil that Casey designed and autographed for the prize pack reads, “peta2 Is for Animal Lovers,” a takeoff on the band’s hit single “Ohio Is for Lovers.” When asked what his legions of fans can do to help them kick the meat habit, Casey, who went vegetarian seven years ago, replies, “I’ll say just watch the PETA videos. That’s made a few of my friends change their ways. It’s pretty disgusting.” [see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story
