Pharcyde Return
Audible Treats reports: Lest you thought they had disappeared in a haze of smoke, The Pharcyde have been hard at work and will be unveiling several new projects this summer. First, they will drop their 4th studio album, Humboldt Beginnings, in July on Chapter1 Records (Their own imprint). Accompanying the album will be the lush video for the lead single, "Knew U". Thirdly, Booty Brown recently lent his vocal skills to the upcoming Gorillaz single "Dirty Harry".

It's been over a decade since the young California quartet called the Pharcyde released the classic Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde album. The group has been through a lot since then: 4 studio albums, a line-up change, and the formation of their own label. Summer 2005 finds founding members Booty Brown and Imani in fine form, now music industry veterans who are firmly in control of their own destiny. Humboldt Beginnings gives their fans a trip down memory lane with the same laissez-faire vibe and fertile lyrics from the Pharcyde's past classics while paying homage to their favorite plant (and even providing a recipe for "special" brownies on the inside sleeve of the CD). With a mischievous smile Brown explains, "Some hip-hop is so serious these days. We made this album for people to vibe to."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Duane Peters Update
TPG Publicity reports: DUANE PETERS [US BOMBS, DIE HUNNS] is a skateboarder and punk rocker with serious cred. The DUANE PETERS GUNFIGHT is Duane's most recent band project. With members of The Ultravires, Spent Idols, The Sleepers, The Masons and Black Lab -- this is a 6 piece"punkrocknroll" band with an impressive punk rock pedigree. Gut wrenching, guitar slinging, hip-shaking, saloon stomping tunes, that'll make your ears bleed. [You can catch them on the road this summer on tour with the Circle Jerks! see full story link for dates]

The Duane Peters-steered U.S. BOMBS are a boulder of truth and authenticity in a sea of slick poseur sewage. Extolling the virtues of classic punk, where razor sharp riffs cut ardent rants into little sticks of musical dynamite - the U.S. BOMBS are real punk rock! Duane has also been at the helm of the infamous HUNNS since 2000. With the addition of ex-Nashville Pussy bassist, COREY PARKS, DIE HUNNS has evolved into a threatening, swaggering, kick-face menace -- combining raw, American rock'n'roll with punk rock ethics. New DIE HUNNS and new U.S. BOMBS CDs scheduled for release later this year. [see full story for more including upcoming dates with The Circle Jerks]- Click Here for the Full Story

Spaghetti Covers
KP Group reports: Eddie Spaghetti, lead singer and bass player for legendary rock-n-roll renegades, The Supersuckers, has just crapped out the follow up to his critically acclaimed and surprisingly successful first solo album, The Sauce. It's called Old No. 2 and it's more of the same for Eddie. Only Better! Recorded once again at Studio Litho in Seattle with engineer and co-producer David Fisher, Spaghetti "went all crazy" and indulged himself with 5 whole days to record and mix Old No. 2. (one more than The Sauce!) Michael Murderburger returns on drums and percussion and Spaghetti also up and splurged for a ringer to help make it sound "more like real music" (as he puts it). The incredible, multi-talented comic genius, Jordan Shapiro was flown in all the way from Los Angeleez, California,! Mr. Shapiro lends his guitar, dobro and pedal steel talents to Old No. 2, making it bigger and even sweeter than The Sauce. Old No. 2 once again showcases Spaghetti's impeccable song selection with covers ranging from Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan to AC/DC and Tom Waits as well as his ability to make up his own songs that hang with (and sometimes outshine) the classics. Old No. 2 is a must have for Supersuckers fans and fans of good music in general. You will play this record to your kid's kids. It's an instantaneously timeless classic.

Look for Old No. 2 in-stores on October 18, 2005 with a solo tour to follow. If you can't wait until October, you can catch Eddie in a rare solo performance on Thursday, July 28 at Dante's in Portland, OR as well as select Supersuckers dates with Pearl Jam in September.
