iPod
Saves Tour |
Press Release reports: Chicago rock band Midstates
recently welcomed Apple's new iPod as the group's sixth member while on
tour this last November. The hot new device played drums, keyboards and
guitars and even made sure audiences could visually experience the unique
skills of the group's drummer. This is probably the first instance of an
iPod being used to recreate not only an audio performance, but also a visual
performance.
Midstates, touring in support of their
upcoming release Boxing Twilight, recently found themselves in a bind -
how to tour with popular combo, Wheatus, for three weeks without three-fifths
of their members? With the tour falling around the holidays and three members
unable to carve out enough time from other obligations, Midstates' Paul
Heintz and Steve Munoz needed a solution and needed it fast. To further
the dilemma, drummer Angel Ledezma's highly-charged live performances are
always a crowd pleaser and the group felt his absence would detract from
the shows. Enter the new Apple iPod with video capability, which had just
hit the shelves just before the band was scheduled to hit the road. [see

Haste
the Day Tour |
Adrenaline PR reports: Haste the Day recently
said goodbye to longtime friend and band vocalist Jimmy Ryan, whose final
show at the Knights of Columbus in Indianapolis, IN was an amazing night
for all. The crowd was more than lively and emotions ran high as the night
erupted. Jimmy left the band gracefully and ended his career with Haste
the Day, by far, with his best performance ever. The sold out crowd’s energy
was felt and heard as their voices over powered the band throughout the
night. Expect to see a DVD of the show to surface later this year..
Now, Haste the Day welcomes Stephen Keech,
from Denver, to take on the lead vocal spot on their current European tour;
then in the U S this February with the group as they set out on the Bleeding
Through, Every Time I Die, Between The Buried And Me. [see full story for

Spitfire
Return |
Adrenaline PR reports: After a near four-year
hiatus, Virginia quintet SPITFIRE has returned to thrill longtime fans
and to introduce a new audience to their aural insanity. One of the biggest
disappointments of 2001 was when the band decided to prematurely call it
a day after the release of their new CDEP with new label Goodfellow Records.
Recorded and engineered at Virginias Red
Planet Studios by Andreas Magnusson (Black Dahlia Murder, Hot Cross, Scarlet)
and mastered by Alan Douches (you name it, he does it) at West West Side,
Self-Help marks a dramatic improvement in the bands style and sound. This
is the most confident, concise SPITFIRE album to date. Fans of frantic,
chaotic, technical metalcore should check out this underrated and under-appreciated
band when their return album Self-Help is released on 28 February 2006.[see

Poison
DVD |
MVD reports: Music Video Distributors and
Cherry Red are pleased to announce the home viewing release of Poison –
Seven Days Live for North American distribution on DVD.
“Seven Days Live” captures Poison (Bret
Michaels, Bobby Dall, Rikki Rockett and Richie Kotzen) at the height of
their international success with a full show recorded at London’s Hammersmith
Apollo in 1993. Featuring classic tracks like Unskinny Bop, Talk Dirty
To Me, Every Rose Has Its Thorn, Nothin' But A Good Time and more, the
band demonstrates what 10 years of hard work can do. In the early 80's,
the band formed and soon signed to Enigma Records where they recorded debut
album “Look What The Cat Dragged In”. The album spawned three US top ten
hits and went on to sell over two million copies. Their second album “Open
Up And Say...Ahh!” outsold its predecessor, with several hits, including
the number one single “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”. Poison continues to tour
and record – retaining their massive worldwide fan base. [see full story
