Kaiser Chiefs Hit n Run Accident

thetripwire reports: Kaiser Chiefs' frontman is lucky to be alive. Ricky Wilson was crossing a street in Leeds, where he was suddenly struck by a car. The hit and run accident happened to Wilson this past weekend, somehow only walking away with somewhat minor injuries.

The band's official website posted the following statement: "He's the luckiest man alive, because he is still alive, it sounds daft, but a 'Ricky trademark jump' has probably saved his life. The jump meant he was flipped over the top of the car, hitting the windscreen, rather than getting trapped under it. He was crossing on a green pedestrian light." Dirty Rig Escapi

Press Release reports: Dirty Rig has joined the Escapi Music (Ryko/Warner Brothers) family. The band has signed a world wide deal for 5 cases of beer. Joking of course. Their CD will be released on June 27th titled "Rock Did It".

Seacrest American Idiot

Extra TV reports: Extra has learned the hardest working man in showbiz today Ryan Seacrest had a few scary moments Monday as he cut himself while falling through a glass table.

Ryan says he’s just fine, but it was “Just typical. I am the biggest klutz on the face of the earth.”

“I was in a meeting with [Idol Executive Producer] Nigel,” Ryan said Tuesday morning on his radio show on Los Angeles’ KIIS-FM, “It was a closed door meeting. We’re walking through details of what’s coming up tonight and tomorrow night. There’s a bulletin board with all these cards on the bulletin board and on those cards are the different moving parts of the show so they can change things around. So I go walk over to see the board a little bit closer and there’s a glass table next to the board that’s framed by a little bit of metal... I decide ‘I’m 155 lbs, I can sit on this thing!’” Think again Ryan! The next thing he heard was a “huge pop” and “I fall between the framing, into the middle, my legs up in the air in a pool of glass. BBC reports: Strong demand for music downloads and successful albums from Coldplay and Gorillaz helped boost EMI profits.

Cerberus Preview

Hell and Death Records reports: Los Angeles melodic thrash/death metallers CERBERUS have uploaded two new tracks from their latest offering, “What Have We Become?”, entitled “Obsidian” and “In Contempt” onto their MySpace page at the full story link . “What Have We Become?” will be released via Hell and Death Records on July 15th.

Peeping Patton

Press Release reports: Years in the making, PEEPING TOM, noise rock renaissance man Mike Patton's most accessible work since his days in Faith No More, is finally a reality. The 11-track opus, featuring a lengthy and incongruous cast of guest performers, is set for a May 30 release on Patton's own Ipecac label.

In keeping with the landmark 1960 psychological horror film that inspired its name, PEEPING TOM had its genesis a modus operandi devoid of physical intimacy. Patton would write songs with a wishlist of theoretical collaborators in mind, then hope for a reply in the form of a finished track. "It's an exotic way of working for someone accustomed to a band environment," Patton says. "It was charming, really. None of the usual Animal House stuff. Instead of swapping spit and underwear, we were swapping files." The band will make their worldwide live debut on the Conan O'Brien show on May 26th. KISS Java

Press Release reports: If you want rock and roll all night, KISS Coffeehouse will be the place to be. On Tuesday, June 27th, legendary KISS band members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons will be on hand at Myrtle Beach South Carolina’s Broadway at the Beach to cut the ribbon on the most outrageous coffee and dessert shop ever constructed.

Dissection Split

The End Records reports: DISSECTION singer/guitarist Jon Nödtveidt announced yesterday in an exclusive interview segment with fans only on the band's website forum, titled 'An Interview by the Fans for The Fans,' that the band has come to a close. In the words of founder Jon Nödtveidt: "With 'Reinkaos' we have reached the ending chapter. Dissection's work is done and this is our legacy."

On June 24th, 2006 the first European gig based on the material of 'Reinkaos' will be performed. The first, as well as the last. The Midsummer Massacre will mark the victorious end of Dissection. "We will also make our first and last concert in Israel, as well as two final concerts on the American continent."

Rock n Women: Sam Lombardi

antiMusic reports: A while back antiCat's kitty litter lining supplier did a sham special touting the women of rock but put Britney on the cover. That left a lot of people scratching their heads because there are plenty of real women with real talent that really rock. We waited in vain for a major publication to correct this error but none took up that responsibility. That doesn't matter because we are doing it! For the next month, we will be showcasing rock n women with a brand new article each weekday by our very own Morley Seaver. Morley understands that women can rock along with the boys and hold their own. So join us as we celebrate the real women of rock from superstars to the up-and-coming artists you should know about. Today looks at Sam Lombardi's debut 'Take Your Pic'.

Like a more rock and roll Avril Lavigne, comes the debut disc of 16 year-old Sam Lombardi from Melbourne, Australia. There are 12 cuts here and Ms. Lombardi co-wrote three herself. The powers that be should just let Sam herself control the reins because her songs are among the best on the record.
