Scott Weiland Tangles With Your Mind
antiMusic reports: Scott Weiland has released a new video off his latest solo album. The video is for the track "Tangle With Your Mind," where the Stone Temple Pilots frontman turned to film students to craft the video.

Blabbermouth is streaming the video but also has this info: "I had watched this movie called 'The Science of Sleep' about a year ago and I fell in love with the film," Weiland told Spinner.com. "I thought it was such a cool and interesting approach and I wanted to use that in a video sometime."

Weiland also had the idea that he wanted to reach out to film students and see if he could give someone a big break. So when relative newcomer Dennis Roberts came up with a treatment that was surprisingly close to what Weiland had already envisioned, he got the go-ahead. "I was really impressed," Weiland told Spinner.com. "I've worked with huge video directors and [Roberts] and his crew were just as professional as anyone I've ever worked with." - Learn more and check out the video here

PR reports: XS Records sent over this update: Still saddened and shocked by the death of Lucy Vodden, Julian Lennon re-entered the studio this week after a 10-year hiatus to record "Lucy," a duet with James Scott Cook.

Vodden, a childhood friend of Lennon's, inspired him to draw a picture that later inspired his father John Lennon to pen the song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."

Elton John, Lennon's godfather, later re-recorded the song. "LUCY" is scheduled to be released next week, with profits from the song's sales going to support lupus research. - Julian posted some more info here

Phish Fall Tour
PR reports: Phish's fall tour will kick off at Detroit's Cobo Arena on November 18th. It will include three shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden (December 2, 3 & 4) and conclude at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA on December 5th.

Festival 8, Phish's eighth festival and its first ever on the West Coast, will take place on October 30, 31 and November 1 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. Given Phish's long-standing Halloween tradition of donning a "musical costume" and performing a classic album from another band, speculation is rampant as to which album the band will play during its "Halloween set," scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31.

In the first of three performances on Sunday, November 1, Phish will play its first-ever full-length acoustic set. Coffee and donuts will be served during this "breakfast" show. The band will give a total of eight performances during the three-day celebration, which also features on-site camping and numerous attractions and art installations.

Essential Clash Interviews
PR reports: The Clash reinvented rock and roll in just six short years. As influential as it was inspirational, the group helped usher in the U.K. punk movement of '76/'77, before evolving into one of the most forward thinking rock acts of the early 1980s.

A new book, The Clash: Essential Interviews (Rifftastic!/Rock Reader Books) compiled by John D. Luerssen collects the group's most candid and indispensible media interactions. The title is set for immediate purchase and delivery via Lulu, with release to Amazon Kindle users on October 15th, 2009 and distribution to traditional retailers expected by November 15th.

Staking claim to the slogan "the only band that matters", The Clash Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon were innovators who fused ska, reggae and rockabilly with thought probing rebellion at a time when mediocrity ruled the musical landscape. Few would argue that the band was way ahead of its time. In fact, Bono once said, "The Clash are the greatest rock band. They wrote the rule book for U2."

From their first-ever gigs with The Sex Pistols to the creation of their triumphant 1979 album 'London Calling' and on to the global success of 1982's 'Combat Rock', The Clash: Essential Interviews collects the group's most candid and indispensible media interactions. It is a must-read for any Clash fan.

Jack Bruce and Robin Trower Live Album Hits This Week
PR reports: Ruf Records announces the release of the first-ever concert recording together of blues/rock legends Jack Bruce and Robin Trower on Seven Moons Live, to be released in the U.S. on October 13. The new CD also features drummer Gary Husband, who's worked with John McLaughlin and Gary Moore, among others. Ruf Records is distributed nationally in the U.S. by the Allegro Corporation.

The new CD was recorded in Nijmegen, Holland, in February of this year in front of a wildly-enthusiastic crowd that had traveled from all across Europe to be a part of this special event. Seven Moons Live features a dozen songs, including eight live versions of tunes Bruce and Trower had recorded on their critically-acclaimed Seven Moons studio album released in early 2008; one track ("Carmen") originally recorded by Bruce and Trower with the B.L.T. trio in 1981; and three exciting re-workings of classic Jack Bruce songs - "Sunshine of Your Love," "White Room," and "Politician" - from his days as a member of the supergroup, Cream.

The Seven Moons Live recording was only the band's third show on the tour, but the amazing interplay amongst the musicians, coupled with their fantastic chemistry, is imminently present throughout the album. As Jack Bruce enthuses after one of the first few songs, "Now we are beginning to get somewhere!" - more on this story
