�The Village� easily beat out the competition this week, including last week�s No. 1 �The Bourne Supremacy� and the big budget remake of �The Manchurian Candidate�. The Matt Damon sequel dropped to second place with an estimate box office gross of $23.4 million. The Denzel Washington lead �Candidate� came in third with an estimated $20.2 million.
Will Smith�s �I, Robot� landed in fourth
place with $10 million and �Spider-man 2� rounded out the Top 5 with $8.5
million.
The only other Top 10 debut this week
was for the �stoner� comedy �Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle�, which
earned an estimated $5.1 million, landing in 7th place.
