(antiTainment) The parents of a teenage girl
have filed suit against actor Nick Nolte over an alleged rape at his home.
The lawsuit alleges that the girl was raped by Nolte's security guard after
being given the date rape drug GHB.
The 63-year-old actor was named in the
lawsuit along with other defendants including the security guard and Nicholas
Woodring, who was convicted of having sex with an underage girl for the
same January 2003 incident.
The suit alleges that Nolte was involved
in trying to cover-up the incident, which including videotaped sex with
the girl who was 15 at the time. The suit also reportedly alleges that
Nolte was aware that minors were involved with parties at his Malibu residents
that involved drugs and alcohol.
"The victim in this case wants to make
sure that nothing like this ever happens again at that house," the victim's
attorney Philip Dunn said according to Reuters.
Dunn said that Woodring, who was convicted
in relation to this incident was under 21 at the time and was only required
to serve 180 days in jail for a plea bargain where a charge of rape by
the use of drugs was dropped.
The suit also alleges that the security
guard was employed by Nolte with the actor's "advanced knowledge" of the
guard's "propensity ... for providing alcohol and/or drugs to minor children"
in an effort to have sex with them.
The Nolte camp issued a public statement
denying the actor's involvement in the incident. His publicist said in
a statement that "the incident happened nearly two years ago when Mr. Nolte
was not at the property. It is our understanding that the individual responsible
has been held accountable. Mr. Nolte was at the time, and still remains,
concerned for the young lady's well-being."
Four months prior to this incident Nolte
was arrested for driving under the influence of the date rape drug GHB.
At the time that he pled guilty to the charge, he said that he took the
drug unknowingly as it was part of a bodybuilding supplement.
