Norah Jones proves that she isn’t a one trick
pony as her new CD, “Feels Like Home”, sold just over a million copies
its first week in stores. Needless to say, when the Billboard charts come
out next week, Jones will be sitting pretty at No. 1.
This is the first million selling debut
since June of 2002 when Eminem moved 1.3 copies of “The Eminem Show”.
Norah’s debut album has sold over 8 million
copies to date in the U.S. and she swept the 2003 Grammy Awards.
Kanye West landed the second best selling
album last week. His debut album, “College Dropout”, sold 441,000 units
last week.
Where’s the rock?
Evanescence sold 183,000 of their debut
last week, landing them at No. 7.
Incubus took a nosedive from No. 2 last
week to No. 9. Their latest “A Crow Left of the Murder” sold 125,000 copies
last week.
Damageplan, the new group featuring Pantera
alums Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul landed at No. 38, having sold 45,000
copies of their debut, “New Found Power”.
Courtney Love wasn’t exactly America’s
Sweetheart. Her debut album sold 33,000 copies, landing her at No. 53.
Meanwhile, Dave Grohl’s metal side project,
Probot, came in at No. 68 by selling 27,000 copies last week.
