(antiTainment) Affleck the director? Following
a couple of box office bombs, Ben Affleck has opted to try his luck at
directing. Daily Variety reports that Affleck has signed on with Touchstone
Pictures to make his directorial debut with the film adaptation of Dennis
Lehane's novel "Gone, Baby, Gone".
Affleck has reportedly written the screenplay
based on the novel. Movie goers should be familiar with Lehane's "Mystic
River" which was brought to the big screen in 2003 and earned six Academy
Awards nominations.
"Gone, Baby, Gone," is a story about the
search for a kidnapped 4-year-old girl in blue collar Boston by two private
detectives. The film will be shot on location in Boston with production
expected to being this fall. Early reports indicate that Affleck will not
act in the film.
