Nervous Return

11/04/05
.
(Press Release) La Salle Records’ The Nervous Return (www.thenervousreturn.com ) are currently mastering “144 Hours”, their new release recorded at legendary Sound City Studios in Los Angeles with noted rock producer Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Weezer, Tomahawk).

While The Nervous Return’s new 12-track CD is tentatively slated for release Spring 2006, the band hit the road tonight for the first date of their second national tour in six months in Eugene, OR. at WOW Hall. The tour is a result of a whirlwind recording session that was set-up quickly yet spawned creative outburst of writing shortly before going into the studio for literally – 144 hours. Aside from the new CD, the band is releasing a new digital EP “The Sex, The Drugs….the Nervous return” and a limited edition, promo-only 7” “Bad Girl/Snow in Berlin” which were part of the Sound City Sessions.

After coming off a frenetic 5-week national tour in July 2005 with fellow Los Angeles natives, The Vacation, The Nervous Return found themselves at home and in pre-production on what was to become their new record when a happy accident occurred. A hole in producer Joe Barresi’s schedule opened up and the band was able to book time in the studio that spawned Nirvana’s “Nevermind”, Weezer's “Pinkerton”, Fleetwood Mac's Rumors and the Barresi produced Queens of the Stone Age's “Lullabies to Paralyze”. Wasting no time, The Nervous Return quickly wrote six new songs in a weekend and recorded at a frenetic pace.

Out of these recordings for the new album came the five-song digital EP “The Sex, The Drugs… the Nervous return”. Downloads will be available from all major retail sites including iTunes, Napster, Sony Connect, Rhapsody and others on 10/25. All tracks are previously unreleased. A 2 song limited-edition promo 7” with Bad Girl and the unreleased track “Snow In Berlin” will be available to press, radio and for-sale only at live dates on this tour.
