The making of the record became a unique endeavor in and of itself. Lead singer Ken Block explains: We were all really motivated to make this CD, but in order for us to finish it in time for this years holiday, we had to do a lot of tracking on the road. We recorded in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Dallas, and Gainesville while we were touring. That in itself created a great energy. It was a lot of work, but we had a blast. That was not the only new experience for the Hazel boys. Each of us got to bring in three songs and produce them, explains guitarist Ryan Newell. Being in a band with five equal voices, it was a great experience to see each one of us take turns in the producer seat, adds vocalist/guitarist Drew Copeland.
Sister Hazel continues to tour the world, create unique events for their fans, inspire new generations of fans with their honest, engaging, and undeniable music, and break new ground with their philanthropic efforts. The band will continue touring leading up to and following the release of Santas Playlist (please check bands website for a list of confirmed dates), including a 12 Days Of Christmas tour (dates to be announced soon) on which they will perform songs from Santas Playlist, as well as fan favorites. Sister Hazel will also be hosting Rock Boat VIII, which will sail from Miami, FL, on January 19, 2008, for a five-day festival at sea with port stops in Jamaica and Grand Cayman. The Rock Boat was co-founded by Sister Hazel and Sixthman.
