Several song excerpts recently surfaced online and indicate a very different style for the vocalist. Cornell recorded the disc with famed urban pop producer Timbaland, and says the results surprised him.

I think everyone - including Chris's longtime fans - were surprised at first when they heard of this collaboration; the more of the MUSIC from it that I hear, though, the happier I get! Yea, it's a bold move for Chris, but I'd much rather he take chances on projects he loves than regurgitate the same old album repeatedly...I, for one, LOVE what I'm hearing from "Scream"!!!
