Phish Reunite, Oasis Assaulter Arrested, Magazine Reunion, Chris Dudek (Sodom) RIP, All Shall Perish in Siberia, MxPx Goes 80s and more

09/09/2008

(antiMusic) Phish's four members reunited on stage for the first time in more than four years Saturday night (Sept. 6) at the New York wedding of former road manager Brad Sands. According to reports, Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman and Page McConnell performed "Suzy Greenberg," "Julius" and "Waste" for the presumably stunned wedding guests. But they weren't the only stars to rock the wedding, Billboard will fill you in here.

A Pickering, Ont., man has been charged after Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher was attacked at the Virgin festival on Sunday. Daniel Sullivan, 47, faces one count of assault and has been released from custody on a promise to appear in court more

Magazine, the Manchester post-punk band who originally split in 1981, are set to reform for two live shows in February next year.more

Sodom has announced that their original drummer Chris Dudek (a.k.a. Witchhunter) passed away yesterday. No further details are available at this time. more

Shot entirely on a cell phone camera, Wallpaper are back with their newest up-close-and-personal video. "Txt Me Yr Love" chronicles a typical day in the life of playboy Ricky Reed. Watch him as he strolls the mall, keeps his hygiene on point and gets harassed by a familiar-faced cop. See what kind of DIY hilarity unfolds here. (note to AssCAP: the video is nowhere on our server, go extort money somewhere else while you screw your artists out of free promotion. Hope they think the cents they get from this asinine policy is worth the dollars they lose because of you!)

Sorry we couldn't bring ourselves to post the full PR on this one. Here is the most basic info: "New Kids on the Block: A Behind The Music Special Event" will premiere on September 28 at 8PM. A once great series resurrected for this? If this year's VMAs didn't prove it, this should hammer it home that Viacom has totally lost what little cred they had left.

Upcoming concerts by Death Cab For Cutie, O.A.R. and Melissa Etheridge at the approximately 2,3000-capacity House of Blues in Atlantic City, N.J., will be the first of many to be featured on high-definition cable network HDNET through 2009. more

The final defendants to settle lawsuits over the 2003 Great White nightclub fire that killed 100 people have agreed to pay survivors and victims' relatives more than $250,000, according to court papers filed Monday. Seven insurance companies and the former owner of The Station nightclub in West Warwick reached the settlement. more

All Shall Perish recently embarked on an unprecedented 10 day tour of the greater Russia area which included four shows in Siberia. The band made history by becoming the very first North American metal band to ever play shows in Siberia which included Irkutsch, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Omsk. more

Anthrax bassist Frank Bello's Fender bass has been stolen. A statement on the theft can be read here

Deep Purple broke the record for international artists playing in Israel. Their original September 2008 show sold out so quickly a second was added. Then the third, and now it's four. more. Maybe the puppet show helped?

After The Burial tells Lambgoat, "Due to unfortunate circumstances we've parted ways with Grant Luoma. We're happy to say we've found a replacement vocalist." more

California hardcore band Internal Affairs has announced their break-up. The group has cancelled their previously announced European tour but will likely announce a final show shortly. more

Singer/actor Val Emmich has forgone the typical "let's do a video" route and has instead decided to give fans a video series where he gives more insight into the actual songs. Check those out here

MxPx are jumping on the covers album bandwagon. The band is working on an 80s themed album. "Its not necessarily chart topers from the 80's; well some of them are but not all of them. Should be fun," said drummer Yuri Ruley. more

Vivid Girls Nikki Jayne and Hanna Hilton will host and be among the judges at the Vivid Bad Ass Air Guitar Championship that will rock The Meadowlands on Saturday night, September 13 at 7pm during EXXXOTICA New York, a three day erotic expo (www.exxxoticany.com).

On September 20, the BBC2 in the UK will be running The Carmine Appice Story between 7 and 8 PM UK time (2 east coast/5 west coast). - more on this story
