Jet Singer Returns To The Stage

08/13/2009
.
(10th St) Nic Cester, who was just released from hospital, and his band JET took to the stage Wednesday night (12) at Parker McMillan as part of the This Feeling Club Night. Two nights earlier, the JET frontman collapsed on the Hard Rock Cafe stage and was rushed to University College Hospital suffering dehydration and severe low blood pressure after performing only two songs for Q The Music Club. The band is in the midst of their second round the world trip in support of the soon to be released Shaka Rock.

There was much speculation as to whether the singer would be well enough to perform but Nic insisted on not letting the fans down and went on against strict orders.

Jet performed 7 songs including the new single "She's A Genius" and classic "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" to packed venue, welcoming crowd and VIP guests including David Bentley (England and Tottenham player) and The Who / Oasis drummer Zak Starkey.

The acoustic set was just a taster for what's to come when JET return to the UK for a National tour kicking off on September 9th in Nottingham and running through September 17th at the HMV Forum in London. Please visit jettheband.com for a complete tour schedule.

The band were thrilled Nic was able to perform for the This Feeling audience with bassist Mark Wilson saying "Nic is resilient and doesn't like to cancel a show. After Monday night he wanted to get right back on the stage for the fans."

Nic Cester added "We really believe in this record and want everyone to hear it so canceling the gig tonight was not an option."

Nic got the night started with 'She's A Genius' saying: "I'm going to kick things off with the song I should have finished the other night."

The Aussie rockers are in London on a whirlwind promotional tour ahead of their third studio album SHAKA ROCK and lead single "She's A Genius." The band will continue on to Europe this week for a further three festival appearances before returning to the UK for 2 V Festival performances on August 22 and 23.
